Suddenly…

One thing I hate that people do is post overly melodramatic statements about how a dead celebrity affected their lives. With that in mind, I’ll attempt to rein myself in.

Olivia Newton John was my first crush.

I don’t know if it was her performance as Sandy in Grease or watching her on MTV, but I remember being smitten. I even remember dancing along with Let’s Get Physical.

Of course I was around 6, so I had no idea what she meant by that. But damn if I wasn’t in love with that blonde goddess on the television.

In a way, I think I still have a crush on her. From my childhood it’s pretty much her and Carrie Fisher. No one else really is on that level.

She also had some great music. Some of my favorites:

Twist of Fate

Suddenly

Hopelessly Devoted to You

Magic

A Little More Love

And of course, anything from Grease.

Anyway, thanks for being my ideal woman, Ms Newton-John. Rest in Peace.
