Six Flags New Orleans Prints

These images were taken in Six Flags New Orleans by Adam Buck Santino, the Assistant Archival Photographer for the park. Originally opened as Jazzland in May of 2000. The Six Flags corporation bought the park and reopened in 2003. When Hurricane Katrina devastated South East Louisiana, the park was flooded and has been closed ever since. In 2023, the park was leased by the Bayou Phoenix corporation for redevelopment. Two photographers were allowed to document the park and it’s eventual demolition. You can own a piece of New Orleans history.

The Zydeco Zing

The iconic Zydeco Zing ride. Originally built for Jazzland in 1999 and retained when the park became Six Flags New Orleans. Despite the park being mostly demolished, the ride still sits in the remains of the world’s most famous abandoned theme park.

The Mega Zeph Wooden Roller Coaster

The iconic Mega Zeph wooden roller coaster. Originally built for Jazzland in 1999 and retained when the park became Six Flags New Orleans. This beautiful ride was unfortunately demolished in early 2025. It’s absence is arguable the biggest peice missing from the world’s most famous abandoned theme park.

The Big Easy Ferris Wheel

The famous Big Easy Ferris Wheel. one of the weenies of Six Flags New Orleans. Originally built for Jazzland in 1999 and retained when the park became Six Flags. Despite the park being mostly demolished, the Big Easy is one of the few remains of the world’s most famous abandoned theme park.
