Saving Jazzland

New Orleans is a city of stories. In every nook and cranny, in the shadow of every person, there is a story. But few stories in New Orleans carry the weight of Six Flags New Orleans, the theme park abandoned after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Originally known as Jazzland, the park has become a legend across the world.

From 2023 to 2025, I was the Assistant Archival Photographer on the Jazzland Project. I was working under established photographer Jason Lanier.

To date, the most graphic depiction of our work is a mini-documentary on youtube, called Saving Jazzland. In it, you will see a world of wonder and hints at the breadth of the Jazzland story.

For now, please enjoy this glimpse into the heart of our dystopian wonderland.
