Cadiz, Spain

I could have spent a week in Cadiz. We all agreed it was our favorite port.

Our tour took us off of the island and into mainland Spain. Our first stop was the “white villages” of Medina-Sidonia. It was stunning, the kind of place where you realize instantly you could see yourself living there. A highlight was seeing the Monasterio De Jesús, María Y José, though it was under some reconstruction.

One of the saddest parts of seeing these countries was that many of them were just getting ready for Christmas. We could see just enough to know how amazing they would be when the decorations were complete. Medina-Sidonia was incredible on it’s own, but you just knew it was going to be spectacular come Christmas.

After that, we took a tour of Tio Pepe, a winery that specialized in Sherry.

Downtown Cadiz was amazing and I wish I’d had more time to explore and take photos. Unfortunately, our time in port was short. I was able to get a few shoddy photos through the dirty window of my bus, but that was it. I would like to go back some day.
