National Day of Letters
We live in a world that is somehow more connected than ever and yet the connection we have with people has never felt more shallow.
Social media has dehumanized us.
I was thinking of how humans use to connect. Before social media. Before smart phones or dumb phones. Before email.
People used to write letters. Slower and less efficient, sure. But they were personal. Intimate. When you write someone a letter, you’re telling them they matter to you.
So I want to put something out there.
September 30th, 2026 will be a Day of Letters.
If you want to participate, choose one or two people that you care about and write them a letter. Get some paper and a pen and actually write to them.
Tell them you miss them. Tell them how you’ve been lately. Tell them something you’ve been afraid to admit. Whatever you feel is appropriate.
It can be someone who you haven’t see in a while, or your best friend. Maybe it’s someone you stopped talking to. It can be an opportunity.
If you like the idea, pass this on to three people whom you think would enjoy doing it.
