Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

One of my favorite ports was Las Palmas de Gran Canaria of the Spain’s Canary Islands. We all agreed this was a highlight of the trip.

We took a tour of the Plaza de Santiago and the Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol (another church). Later we went to Arucas and got an outside view of Templo Parroquial de San Juan Bautista (yet another church), but didn’t go inside. Our last stop was Jardin de la Marquesa; botanical gardens that specialize in bananas. They offered us samples of an incredible banana liqueur.

When the tour was over, we walked over to the coast and had lunch at a Spanish restaurant with tables by the ocean. That was the best part of the day.
